Pontus Engborg views the whole world as his work place. Engborg has played both in the US and throughout the European music scene. Pontus started his career in Los Angeles, California and lived in the US from the year 2000 to 2004. While living in Los Angeles Pontus was able to record at some of the most wellknown studios and has shared stage with Stevie Wonder, Flea, Sheila E, Stewart Copeland, Jimmy Johnson etc. He has played at such clubs as Johnny Depp's Viper Room, Whiskey a go go, Knitting Factory, Key Club etc. In 2004 Pontus moved back to his native country Sweden but still to this day Pontus has a strong connection to LA. In 2007 Pontus travelled back to California to play at one of the world's most famous and legendary music clubs - The Baked Potato.

Engborg is currently working with three different bands (Therése Neaimé band, Sunday Night Live and Confusion) Pontus always tries to keep an open mind and is therefore working as an independent drummer for other artists and projects.

He has worked/played with: Stanley Clarke, George Duke, Oneida James, (Joe Cocker), Carol Rogers (aka Mama O), Gaby Moreno, Barry Squire (Sony Records), Travis Carlton, Mike Cates (E Street Band) , Nick Sample , Jeerk, Eric De Van, Louise Gardtman, Per Strandberg, BasBerra Holmgren, Pistvakt and many more. In the summer of 2008 Pontus and the Neaimé band perfomed for thousands while touring Europe together with the english soul band - Simply Red.

Engborg has been able to experiment with a variety of music styles over the years - both in the studio and in live performances. However, he is best known as a groove-drummer who has a feel for Funk, R n' B, Rock, Pop and Fusion. He feels that the most important things for him are the feel, vibe, groove and time.
Pontus Engborg's style has been influenced by many different drummers, too many to mention on this website.

I believe that the drummer should mean what he/she is doing as well as bring love, attitude and respect to the music. This is what I'm trying to achieve every time I play. I turn it into my personal style by adding my own ideas and flavours ( Pontus Engborg)
